"I was licensed as a Davis Dyslexia Correction® Facilitator in May 2007. Since then I have worked with a variety of clients, both children and adults.
It is very rewarding to see the growth in self esteem and confidence in their ability to learn that takes place during the programme. As a Facilitator, I provide opportunities for clients to ‘learn how they learn’. This is much deeper than simply giving remedial exercises to improve reading or spelling – the client discovers why they think the way they do and how to use that thinking style to their advantage.
After spending many years as a teacher trying to help with the symptoms of dyslexia I am now seeing the difference it makes when people deal with the cause. What a powerful feeling it is for people to be in control of their learning!
"I have been providing educational assessments since 2011. Everyone has their own pattern of strengths and weaknesses. I aim to make the assessment experience a positive one for all concerned."
It's hard when your kid sees the one sitting next to them busily writing a 3-page story and they're still trying to write their first sentence or they watch their friend read confidently and they get tripped up on words like 'from' or 'there'. It's hard for a parent to watch their own difficult experience at school being lived out by their child. I get it!

"As M spoke of his experience with dyslexia Glenys often made comments that she understood what he was talking about. It seemed to be uplifting for M to talk to someone who was so sympathetic... M greatly enjoyed the course and put in a lot of effort but said that it did not feel like work. On my visits I was often struck by Glenys' patience and thoroughness. She also kept me informed of progress and was happy to answer questions. We found the course, as Glenys delivered it, to be quite thorough in addressing the goals we had decided on at the start, and Glenys appears to be an excellent facilitator." -MG, parent of 15 year old.
